We requested a toddler girl or sibling group from Ethiopia and plan to take our 7-year-old biological daughter with us on the journey. August 24, 2009--Returned to Omaha with Jacee and Charis. August 12, 2009--Left the U.S. to get our girls. July 24, 2009 -- Passed court. July 1, 2009--Judge decided not to hear testimony of birth mom since she was late yesterday. We joined the 40% of families who do not pass court the first time. June 30, 2009-- Birth mom arrived late for court (she had to travel over five hours), so court rescheduled for next day. • June 10, 2009-- Received court date of June 30th. • June 1, 2009 -- Referral for siblings. Woo hoo! • November 7, 2008 -- DTE (paperwork complete and in Ethiopia) • April 2008 -- Switched to the Ethiopia program after being encouraged by our adoption agency to discontinue with the Ukraine program. To check out our experience trying to adopt from Ukraine, check out our blog link below. • January-April 2008 -- Things got worse in Ukraine, with families returning home without a child after multiple appointments and no option to return. • December 2007 -- First appointment in Ukraine. Not shown any children (files) that matched our request and sent home to await a second appointment. • January 3, 2007 -- Accepted to our adoption agency into the Ukraine program.
